SC/ST/OBC Committee

The SC/ST/OBC Committee has been established at the institution to properly implement policies and programs for the welfare of students, and students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). The Committee explores ways to ensure social inclusion and realize the equal educational opportunities and rights of students from marginalized communities. The committee works within the purview of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of education, and other accreditation agencies to create a conducive environment for students of SC, ST, and OBC categories to study with dignity, self-esteem, confidence, and without discrimination.

Objective

• To provide equal scope and opportunity for students belonging to SC, ST, and OBCs, in academic as well as co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
• To stop caste, community, and socio-economics-based discrimination or harassment and act without delay on cases which are reported.
• To disseminate information to students regarding a variety of Government schemes, scholarships and other support available for SC/ST/OBCs.
• To foster academic and personal development for SC/ST/OBCs through counselling, mentoring and support.
• To oversee adherence and compliance with reservation on the admissions, recruitment and other institutional policies.
• To sensitise the campus community to issues of caste equality, social justice and inclusive education.
